We’ve all seen the day-to-night looks that feature an outfit appropriate for a casual day of shopping, then slightly adjusted to become an outfit appropriate for an a night on the town with your beau or besties. Yeah, it’s like that, but with a graphic tee! I never understood why t-shirts were dubbed to be sloppy or dumpy; there are seriously tons of ways to rock a graphic tee with style. And, anyways, gone are the days of pantyhose and knee-length skirts. If t-shirts are your jam, don’t let the “casual” aspect hold you back from wearing them to any occasion! To prove that you can rock a t-shirt anytime, I’m styling it from day to night and even rockin’ it out a little.
One of my favorite internet friends, MaLyn, sent me this Texas tee to style and I made a mental note that I seriously loved how this look came together for a quick girl’s date. I actually grabbed coffee with a friends before we shot this look and I felt like this was such a cute and edgy daytime look.
If you’re not the leather jacket type (which, pause, because everyone can be the leather jacket type, if you’re nervous about wearing it then a leather jacket and a tee is definitely a great first step!), you can opt for a blazer or a cardigan to take this look to the preppy side! Personally, I would even wear this to the office if it were a business casual space.
To take this outfit from day to night, I tried to change as little as possible. I love the day to night looks that are just a quick change that you can accomplish while on the run. Otherwise, what’s the point of not just changing your entire outfit?! (#keepinitreal: I did this change right there in public next to the spot we were shooting at, so I’m 100% confident you could actually go from day to night if you’re on the run! Haha!) This metallic skirt is perfect for happy hour with the girls or a dinner date!
