I know I can’t be the only person who just realized that Halloween is next week. Next week, y’all. My toddler has his sh*t together, because he chose his costume promptly on October 1st…the retail world has really gotten to him. Me, on the other hand, I’ve lost my sh*t and gone to la la land…only to wake up with just one week left to plan a cute costume for myself. Enter shopping my own closet, bum-rushing cute accessory shops, and getting reeaaaaal creative. Lucky enough, there’s technically still time to order some pieces and create an adorable costume. But I won’t kid myself, I’m totally going to dig through my closet for anything black and throw on cat ears.

Belle of the Masquerade Ball

If you’re a girly girl (or even just a girl), you probably own something “foo foo” and princess-like. If you’re my kinda girl, you’re probably hiding it in the back of your closet like me…but you still have it. ;P Whatever girly items you have can easily become a belle of the ball, a princess, or a prom queen! All you have to do is grab a couple accessories (a crown or a mask) and throw on your favorite heels!

Black Cat

Alright, alright, I’m aware that some gals maaaaayyyy not own a tulle skirt (that’s kinda actually just a blogger thing). But, we’ve all got a black dress or a black top and jeans! Cat ears are a dime a dozen, you can find them at Forever 21, Target, Charming Charlie, any costume store, and more. My blogger bestie, Julie, seriously rocked all black in an off-the-shoulder tunic, leather leggings, and killer booties. See her full post on her blog, Calo’s Closet! (She’s the best blogger ever. I may be biased. She’s my favorite.)

Simply Be-witching

If you don’t want to be a cat (I get it, we’ve all worn ears with a black leotard and our asses hanging out…I understand not wanting to relive those college days! Just me??), you can always grab a witch’s hat! A simple black dress would do, but I went with something truly bewitching – a loose, silky top with a purple watercolor print and a lace up skirt! Besides, chokers are back in style, right? 😉

Whatever you wear, Happy Halloween!
