I recently shared this holiday look on Instagram and got such a great response that I decided to do a full tutorial on how to get that Old Hollywood Glam look! I first tried this look for Halloween once, but quickly fell in love with the versatility of it! It’s just the right amount of sophisticated and glam for the holiday season; what’s better than red lips at a holiday party?!

1. Side-swept Blonde Waves

I’ve always parted my hair on the side, but there’s something about a deep, side-swept part that just screams “glam.” The 1940’s Hollywood Glam squad was no stranger to this trick and it’s an easy way to change up your normal holiday party curls! It’s easy to achieve this look: part your hair farther to the side than normal, curl horizontally from end to scalp, roll and pin curls up while you do your makeup, then take them down and run a brush lightly through them! The perfect Hollywood Glam Look isn’t complete without those gold blonde locks, so I used Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color in Silky Blonde to get a more true gold hue to my blonde!

Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color helps me color my hair at home, with professional quality that offers intense color payoff while ensuring less hair breakage during the process. Since I color my hair often, I love that it includes a pre-treatment to apply to your ends for even color result. Dying your hair at home is as simple as just a few steps: you apply the pre-treatment to your ends, mix the color creme and developer lotion, saturate your hair with the mixture (starting at the roots and going in sections), wait 35-40 minutes, rinse it out, and finish up with the Keratin care conditioner!

Schwarzkopf® is also a proud sponsors of Dress for Success® with a contribution of $125,000, which is a huge selling point for me. (Dress for Success empowers women by providing them with the tools they need to achieve economic independence. 2. Eyeliner and Lashes to Kill

A staple to the Old Hollywood Glam look is the eyes. Get the eyes right and you’re set! Apply thick liner in the middle of your eyelid with thinner edges on the inner and outer corners. (Avoid the winged-eyeliner look, that’s a very current look and won’t translate to this look!) Aim for wispy lashes on the outer corner by using your mascara brush to “pull” your lashes towards your ears, then apply mascara as normal.

This one is a no-brainer. The red lips really seal the Old Hollywood Glam look, and they’re perfect for the holidays! What could be more festive than red on your lips?! :*
