Making Skin a Part of my Resolution

It’s a new year, resolutions have been made (and resolutions have been broken) and we’ve also had one of the coldest January’s yet! The chilly weather is likely to sabotage some of your best intentions (who wants to head out to the gym when they can barely manage the walk to their car without freezing?!), but my goal for this year is to be ruthlessly diligent in routines and no Jack Frost is going to get in my way! He is, however, encouraging one of my highest priority routines – skincare. With my skin, which is on the dry side, it takes one cold day to remind me how easily my skin can be damaged during the winter.

2018 is going to be a year of focus and diligence. While I am applying that to some “big picture” areas of my life, I am also applying it down to my daily routines. From washing my face every morning and night, to drinking 8 glasses of water a day, all the way down to the deodorant I’m using, I’m actively focusing on caring for my body and my skin. Even Dove dermatologist, Dr. Alicia Barba recommends a bedtime routine to focus on moisturizing your face during this cold season as well as staying hydrated to reduce inflammation and keep your skin looking its best. Routines and water, y’all.

Being diligent and focused also means making myself aware of things I may have been missing before. In skincare, I usually don’t consider my underarms as an area that needs attention, but the winter weather (and the unique area of skin) can cause serious dryness. On top of that, we’re wearing different fabrics and thicker clothing (hello, cute suede jacket that we all hunted down!) that could irritate or smother the skin.

Dr. Barba reminds us that underneath the layers, we need a product that keeps us hydrated and protected, like Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant! Just like moisturizing your face diligently can help get smoother, better looking skin, using Dove Advanced Care can help get softer, smoother skin under your arms. Jack Frost has nothin’ on this skin and these resolutions.

Check out Dove Advanced Care online for yourself. You’ll love the 48-hour wetness protection and added skin care benefits, too.
