While the Houston weather is still fairly warm, it feels a little silly to wear open-toed heels or sandals…even if I am wearing a short-sleeved dress! So I opted for some ankle booties and even threw on a cute floppy hat to channel Fall/Winter. I love dresses that can be styled year-round, like this mauve/dusty rose number. Even in cold weather, this dress would pair well with over the knee boots and a heavy jacket. Ankle booties are a favorite with jeans and now I’m learning how to wear a booties with a dress!
I love how this look came together! I’ve never tried a floppy hat, but it really tied in the boots for this look. I feel like learning how to wear booties with a dress just took their versatility level up a thousand times! These slouchy western-ish booties usually look very casual and “everyday” with jeans and a sweater, but they looked pretty chic paired with a dress! I also feel like this look brought this dress more versatility. I’ve only worn this dress once, with heels, and it seemed a little “more” than everyday wear. (Maybe the almost-suede feel of the fabric?) The floppy hat and booties made it casual enough to wear to a simple brunch or shopping trip! Whether you’re enjoying actual winter temps or still catchin’ rays, ankle booties can be versatile for almost any look!
