Each Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and birthday that rolls around, I rack my brain to think of one-of-a-kind gifts that will be practical enough to become a favorite to my loved ones! I’m sure they’re racking their brain for me, too! Between blogging partnerships and my own shopping addiction, I usually have everything I want! …which got me thinking. What are some gift ideas that would have sentimental value, while also getting their fair share of use? What are some gifts that you just can’t go wrong with?
You probably could have guessed that I would start off with jewelry. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!” Jewelry is a no-brainer (especially for holidays like Valentine’s Day), but I have a couple pointers for you to take your jewelry gift idea to the next level.
Stick with diamonds instead of colored stones. While you may know her favorite color, some women have have strong standards for their jewels. Picking a colored stone risks becoming the-pretty-box-that-sits-in-the-corner-of-her-jewelry-armorer. (We all have one. Spoiler alert: we rarely wear it, if ever.) Besides, diamonds match everything and can be worn on any occasion – even day-to-day. 😉
Shop her favorite brand if they have a fine jewelry line. Kendra Scott is a good example of a popular brand that most women in Texas know (and love!), who carries a fine jewelry line for major holidays. You’ve probably already noticed that your lady is loyal to her brands and she’ll be impressed by your attention to her favorites.
Find an exclusive line that is more unique and limited. It’s common for a woman to have a plain diamond necklace (you know the kind – just a solitaire diamond on a chain), but lines that are only available for a limited time make it even more special!
Keep her interests in mind when you’re searching for a line to buy from. For example, if she has a bleeding heart for the well-being of people, she would appreciate that Kendra Scott’s fine jewelry line is conflict-free (meaning the diamond retrieving process, transportation, and buying is monitored to avoid funding conflict in usually war-torn areas). Most fine jewelry lines have a backstory that is used to help customers relate to the brand and the line; try to shop one that suits your gal’s interests!
Like I said, jewelry is a no-brainer. While diamonds cover the bases for most occasions and outfits, pearls are just a staple that a girl can’t go without. It’s also one of the simplest gifts that you could hunt for. Go for brand-appeal to woo her (like Tiffany’s) and, otherwise, the sales associates will help you figure out the size/budget to meet your/her needs. The huge plus side to buying pearls as a gift is that they’re extremely budget-friendly for such a classic and timeless item. (This set – necklace, earrings, and bracelet – is under $250!)
3. Red bottoms
If you aren’t familiar with “red bottoms,” they’re a specific brand of shoe (Christian Louboutin) that has immediately recognizable (and highly enviable) red soles. These are a huge splurge item, but definitely justifiable with their unique designs, durability, and luxury. You know that whole take-the-total-price-and-divide-it-by-how-many-wears-you’ll-get-out-of-it? Yeah, that. That is why you should buy her red bottoms. 😀
